Tony Ward completes his latest fundraising expedition…

Tony Ward, mountaineer and dedicated supporter of Kidney Research UK, is recovering from his latest fundraising expedition. The ‘Four Peaks Cycle Challenge’ saw Tony cycle between the four highest mountains in the British Isles and Ireland (a distance of over 1,000 miles) and make an ascent of each peak.

The peaks Tony scaled were Ben Nevis (1344m), in Scotland, Scafell (964m), in England, Snowden (1085m), in Wales, and Corran Tuathail (1039m), in Ireland.

During the journey Tony carried out fundraising lectures to a variety of groups and organisations including mountaineering, cycling and rotary clubs, universities and Women’s Institutes. All proceeds benefited Kidney Research UK.

Tony is a renal patient who recently received a kidney from his brother. He uses his mountaineering experience and passion for adventure to undertake physically demanding, high profile challenges for Kidney Research UK, and to date has raised over £20,000 for us.
