Patient grants information

If you have been affected by kidney disease, you know how hard it can be to maintain a normal lifestyle: it can affect your independence, your finances, your quality of life and your self-esteem.

Every year, Kidney Research UK awards Patient Support Grants which are particularly valuable to people who have unforeseen and additional costs as a direct consequence of their kidney condition.

These grants can meet a range of needs, from pre-dialysis to post-transplant. From assistance with re-training for a new job which fits around dialysis or installing a shower, to helping with heating costs or travel expenses, we can have an immediate and positive effect on patients' lives.

One 27-year-old dialysis patient, whom we helped with his study expenses, told us: "I'm so grateful for that help and support, as I couldn't work to earn any money - doing a degree as well as dialysis is quite difficult as it is - and trying to get the actual funds towards it was really hard. The grant took a lot of pressure off me and my parents; it would have been very hard to finish the degree without it."

If you would like to apply for one of our Patient Grants, please download the relevant application document from the links below, complete it accordingly, and post to the Grant Administration Office at Kidney Research UK, Kings Chambers, Priestgate, Peterborough PE1 1FG or send it to grants@kidneyresearchuk.org
