Canterbury based band 'Hook' to perform gig in aid of Kidney Research UK!

The band will be hosting a charity event in aid of Kidney Research UK at Canterbury’s premier music and arts venue, Orange Street Music Club. A cause close to the band’s heart, they are asking local businesses and people for donations for a raffle, and have already been promised a guitar by Yamaha Music School.

Hook are kicking off the new year with a string of gigs locally and in the Big Smoke. The band fulfilled a long held ambition to play a gig in London’s West End club ‘The Borderline’ at the beginning of January. The venue has played host to band favourites R.E.M., P.J.Harvey, Counting Crows and Joan Armatrading. As lead singer Jo Hook puts it; “It’s good to get these lifelong dream thingybobs in while you can!” The band quitted themselves well, with fans telling them it was their best gig yet.

The band are now looking forward to a series of local dates before returning to Camden’s Dublin Castle in March – another favourite venue!
