| Where We Spend Our Money |
Giving you a clearer view of our charitable activityKidney Research UK depends on the support of the general public to generate income for funding our life saving research. It’s therefore important that any funds raised are spent in the most effective way to ensure that we can continue to fund research projects and cover our costs. We are dependent on the donations of time and money from our supporters to help us work towards completing our mission of finding a cure for Kidney disease. This page aims to give an open and honest look at how we operate in order to answer any questions about why we spend what we do and where we spend it. Our ResearchSince 1985 we have invested over £30 Million into cutting edge research in order to improve the lives of the people who suffer from kidney disease. At the moment Kidney Research UK has over £7.8 million invested in 75 ongoing research projects across the country. These projects last on average 2 to 3 years. Therefore we are constantly fundraising in order to cover our research commitments and making sure we raise enough to fund even more projects in years to come.
The pie chart above demonstrates how much we spend on funding our research and how much we spend towards raising future funds. It can be described as 38% of all voluntary income raised or as in the pie chart 38 pence in every pound raised. Since we re organised the charity in 2006 we have reduced our costs by 21% to ensure that as much income as possible goes directly into research. We also have in place extremely stringent practices to ensure that not even a penny is wasted. Our fundraisingIn 2006/2007 we raised £6.3 Million from voluntary income which was raised through a number of different sources. Kidney Research UK has a professional fundraising team who are committed to raising as much money as they can to help people with Chronic Kidney Disease. |
