With the gift in your Will, one day we will find a cure for kidney disease

Large or small, a gift in your Will could help to save precious lives

Around 75% of Kidney Research UK's expenditure goes directly into funding research. Over the last 21 years, the charity has invested over £30 million in kidney research.

One of the most important ways we can fund research is through gifts made in Wills. Making a gift in your Will is the ideal way to make sure a cause you care about endures, improving and saving lives well into the future.

Thanks to gifts in Wills, Kidney Research UK has been involved in numerous research programmes that have led to a better understanding of kidney disease, and better treatments for people who are struck down by the condition. Over the past 45 years, our researchers have contributed to many developments that are now saving lives.

Yet we cannot become complacent. Every day people like Lewis Caldwell (pictured above) suddenly have their lives turned upside down by this indiscriminate and debilitating disease. For many people it can mean a lifetime of dialysis or a transplant, which can lead to other health problems in turn.

With a donation to Kidney Research UK in your Will, you can help ensure that years from now, our researchers will find a cure that could save and transform lives young and old.

Large or small, a gift in your Will could help to save precious lives

Any size of gift can help us keep the research work going. The list below will give you some idea of how much your gift is needed:

£12,000 would pay for a year's worth of Dr Colin Baigent's studies, which aims to develop a quick and simple method of measuring kidney function from a fingerprick test – just think how improved early detection will improve a person's long term survival.

£25,000 could support an innovative project for better treatments, such as Dr Arif Khwaja's investigation into whether a cancer drug can treat kidney disease.

£50,000 could fund leading-edge projects like Professor Terry Cook's study into using stem cells from bone marrow to replace damaged cells in the kidney.

£250,000 would allow a senior researcher to tackle an in-depth and highly complex area, such as Dr Catherine Boulter's study into the underlying molecular basis of polycystic kidney disease and Wilm's tumour.

£1 million allows us to conduct comprehensive research such as our ABLE project, a multi-disciplinary study which has simultaneously assessed the prevalence of kidney disease in at-risk communities, the reasons behind this, and ways of empowering these individuals to minimise the risk to their future health and well-being.

Right now, over 3 million lives are threatened by kidney disease in the UK.

With your help, one day we will find a cure.

Please help us save lives, please put Kidney Research in your Will.
